Dear Jewell Families,
We are very excited for this upcoming year. We are hoping to continue the amazing growth we saw last year in all of our students and continue to write Jewell’s story!
Online Student Check-in
You can find the student check-in link on jewell.aurorak12.org/ Online check-in allows you to update and/or confirm any information necessary for our student database, such as phone numbers, addresses, emergency contact information, doctor information, work information, e-mail addresses, immunizations, etc.
You must update this information each year. Please make sure you fill out the free and reduced lunch application. Thanks to so many of you completing your forms, we qualified for Title I and can bring in interventionists and the family literacy program because of this. To keep this funding for next year, we need everyone to fill these out again.
The district will call and email all parents/guardians about this online check-in system throughout the summer. If you have completed the check-in, you will still receive the phone call.

All 1st through 5th grade families, please mark your calendar and join us on Tuesday, August 5th for our Supply Drop off from 2:00-4:00. You will meet your child/children's teachers and staff, see the classroom, and drop off school supplies.
On Wednesday, August 6, we will allow parents to enter the building with their students in order to help carry and drop off their school supplies and see their classroom. All parents will be allowed in from 7:45-7:55. We will then ask parents to exit so the students can begin their first day of school.
Kindergarten Students and Families:
Please call the school to sign up for a two-hour orientation time at the school. During this time, the teachers get to know all the students coming to Jewell and create class lists based on these interactions.
- During this time you will quickly meet teachers, then leave your child for about 1 &1/2 hours and your child will socialize with other children and work on kindergarten skills.
- We will post all classroom assignments for kindergarten students on Monday, August 11th by 3:15pm. We will hang the class lists on the front doors of the building. Parents can also log into their IC parent portal and look at their child's schedule to see who their homeroom teacher will be.
After student drop off on August 12, Kindergarten parents are invited to join us in the library for our Kindergarten Parent Boo Hoo Breakfast from 7:45-8:15 am. This is a nice event to connect with other Kindergarten parents and learn about opportunities at Jewell after you drop off your child on the first day of school.
Back to School Night Thursday, August 28th:
Please mark your calendar and join us on Thursday, August 28th for our Back to School Night from 4:30-6:30.
At the back-to-school night, you will learn specific information about your child's grade level such as homework expectations, ways to best communicate with your child/children's teachers, behavior expectations, technology use, and the information they will be learning this year. At the Back to School night, we will also have information for you about the master calendar, bus routes, YMCA before and after school care, food services, free and reduced lunch program, and PTO information.
We will also have a BBQ and an opportunity to get to know other parents and the staff at Jewell. We will have beef hot dogs and hamburgers as well as vegetarian options that will be Kosher.
Before and After School Care
This year we are partnering with YMCA for our before and after school care. This program has worked very hard to ensure they will be able to best support our students and their families. They are working to plan for and create enriching activities to support your child/children's academic, physical, and social-emotional well-being.
Please call us with any questions you may have or leave a voice message, and we will return your call. (303) 751-8862.
Enjoy your summer. Please be safe, and we'll see you soon!
